Sustainable Commodities and Land Use Forum

22 Oct 2024 – 23 Oct 2024Amsterdam

The Sustainable Commodities and Land Use Forum conference is returning to Amsterdam this year to showcase real world solutions to transform commodity supply chains. Speakers will address how businesses can turn regulation into opportunity, regenerate landscapes, and assess what supply chain transformation really means on-the-ground for farmers, forests, biodiversity, and nature.

Innovation Forum has introduced new elements this year including:

  • Regenerative landscapes track: Engage in interactive working sessions where you’ll collaborate with peers to analyse the case studies and adapt best practices to your unique geographical context.
  • Farmer focus: Only farmers can change farming. As a critical voice in these conversations, more farmer perspectives will be integrated throughout the two days to ensure the conversation is farmer focused and remains grounded in reality.
  • The 5th room: Innovation Forum are adding an additional space for discussion on some of the unspoken truths in sustainability. In these off-the-record sessions, we’ll ask attendees to share mistakes and freely speak their minds as we have pragmatic and honest conversation about the future.
  • More networking, more connections: With more side events and better networking options, the organisers are ensuring there’s the opportunity to make the connections that matter and build the partnerships that can really make a difference.

SAI Platform’s Communication Director, Brigid McAleer will be moderating a panel discussion focusing on what regenerative agriculture means for smallholder farmers. While regenerative practices promise to enhance soil health and biodiversity, it also raises questions about land use efficiency and the potential for greenwashing. Brigid will be delving into how these practices can genuinely reduce environmental footprints without merely shifting impacts elsewhere.

Part 1: Farmer perspectives into the practical realities of implementation on the ground.

Part 2: Business perspectives into scalable engagement programs that support farmers.

Part 3: Investor perspectives on blended financing options that effectively balance sustainability with economic viability.

Join us in Amsterdam in October to discuss how we can collaboratively transform agriculture.
