The Executive Committee consists of food and drink industry representatives elected by the General Assembly for two years. It works together with the Platform Secretariat to discuss activities as well as to safeguard the quality and financial viability of the Platform.

Formed in 2004 to provide critical advice on the progress of the initiative, the Advisory Council is composed of experts in the field of sustainability, selected for their expertise and specific interest in issues linked to the economic, social and environmental pillars of sustainable agriculture.
It consists of representatives from NGOs, farmers organizations, research institutes and other stakeholder groups, advises on SAI Platform strategic direction, participates in the evaluation of the work of the Platform and its progress, and suggests potential new members.
