Industry Solutions Officer

SAI Platform is recruiting an Industry Solutions Officer. This is an exciting role and a unique opportunity for a high calibre individual to support SAI platform’s  industry solutions and programmes, at a very crucial time. SAI Platform’s tools and solutions play an important role in  shaping the sourcing standards and approach of the food and beverage industry. Given SAI Platform’s scope and breath, we operate at the centre of sustainable agriculture and agricultural supply chains and the role represents a great opportunity to learn and develop.

The Industry Solutions Officer will support the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) Director and wider SAI Platform Secretariat in delivering core services and systems that allow our solutions and programmes to grow and be used at scale. They will also help to develop important new features that support the work programmes of member workstreams. 

The role involves remote working with a virtual team. 

Responsibilities

Support the Farm Sustainability Assessment Director to:

  • Ensure that all user support requests are managed correctly and in line with agreed levels of service.
  • Developing the effectiveness tracker and reporting on key metrics for growth of uptake and satisfaction for users and service agents.
  • Assist with the delivery of key meetings and events. 
  • Prepare or support the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and reviewing training material. 
  • Support the development of IT solutions including the FSA web-app and benchmarking portal. 
  • Prioritise and resolve any bugs within the system. 
  • Support users and service agents such as verification bodies, endorsed advisors, as well as benchmarked scheme owners.

Support the development of the regenerative agriculture programme and its integration with the FSA.

  • Co-ordinate on farm pilots.
  • Co-ordinate online consultation process.

Finance Officer

SAI Platform has experienced considerable growth in recent years and is creating a new role for a finance officer to manage the day-to-day financial requirements of the organisation.  The successful candidate will be based in Geneva and will work closely with our accountants, also based there.  The role offers the opportunity to work in an organisation with global leaders in the food and drink industry who are at the hub of food system transformation at this exciting and challenging time in the industry.  The role involves office based work with some remote working. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly pay run to ensure invoices meet all requirements and are paid in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage the invoicing of new members and support the set up of SAI Platform in their respective payment systems.   
  • Manage the invoicing and payment process for SAI Platform events and activities. 
  • Ensure debtors are followed up periodically.
  • Act as the liaison person for any banking, tax and VAT issues arising in Switzerland. 
  • Manage external service providers effectively and cost-consciously.
  • Establish reporting mechanisms to monitor and share financial updates.
  • Ensure strong governance of process and budget with related tracking and reporting.
  • Communicate with both internal and external stakeholders on process and issues relating to payments.
  • Support the Operations Director with annual budgeting.

Dairy Programme Officer

The Sustainable Agriculture Initiative Platform (SAI Platform) is a not-for-profit organisation transforming the global food and drink industry to source and produce more sustainably. With over 160 members, from companies and organisations in the food and drink value chain, SAI Platform is at the forefront in pioneering solutions to common challenges and promoting sustainable agriculture through industry collaboration. 

Dairy Officer Role

The Dairy Officer will support the Dairy Working Group lead in operationalising the implementation of the Sustainable Dairy Partnership along with general activities of the Dairy Working Group.  This includes supporting projects that address sustainability challenges faced by the dairy Industry. The role involves remote working with a virtual team. 

The Dairy Working Group represents members responsible for about 30% of the global milk volume. Its focus has been the development and implementation of the Sustainable Dairy Partnership (SDP). A business-to-business industry solution to report Dairy Sustainability progress among dairy buyers and dairy processors. In addition to the SDP, the group is also active with special projects addressing core challenges of the dairy industry: Deforestation and GHG emissions.

The role involves remote working with a virtual team. 

Responsibilities

Sustainable Dairy Partnership (SDP)

  • Manage member enquiries and provide day to day support for the implementation and global roll out of the SDP via the SDP helpdesk. 
  • Respond to user support requests.
  • Ensure the SDP Learning Centre is up to date and accurate.
  • Onboard all new users of the SDP IT platforms: digital solution and learning centre.
  • Support the organisation of SDP training and promotion events such as webinars and physical training and conferences.
  • Support our systems provider with development of the SDP Reporting Hub, a tool used to monitor and report on sustainability targets and progress.

Dairy Working Group Operations 

  • Manage logistics of meetings and related events for the Dairy Working Group.
  • Manage member enquiries and provide day to day support. 
  • Assist with onboarding of new members and manage existing members of the group to encourage engagement and active participation.
  • Facilitate the operations of workstreams: verification, technical.
  • Provide support on specific projects: greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation.

Director Regenerative Agriculture

SAI Platform’s Regenerative Agriculture Programme is a recently launched industry flagship initiative to drive the conversion of the agricultural sector towards the adoption of regenerative agricultural practices. The programme will help guide, measure and enable regenerative agriculture outcomes, with the objective of helping farmers to overcome the challenges they face in the implementation and scaling of solutions. 

The position

We are recruiting a Regenerative Agriculture Director. This is an exciting role and a unique opportunity for a high calibre individual with a proven track record to lead and further shape the platform’s regenerative agriculture programme. The solutions that SAI Platform develops will ultimately shape the  sourcing standards of the food and beverage industry. Given SAI Platform’s scope and breath, the Regenerative Agriculture Director is probably one of the most influential positions in the food supply chain today. 

Candidate profile:

  • An agronomist/ environmental scientist with extensive experience in sourcing of agricultural raw materials and value chain development. 
  • Experienced in implementing soil, biodiversity, water management practices and precision agriculture technology.
  • A decisive results achiever: effective in both corporate and multi-stakeholder environments and thriving in this complex playing field.
  • A strong team leader, excited by, and comfortable with managing a dispersed team.  
  • Business-oriented and pragmatic with a clear understanding of the needs of diverse stakeholders.
  • Native or near-native level English speaker with excellent verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective development and leadership of SAI Platform’s Regenerative Agriculture Programme.
  • Ensure connection and integration of existing SAI Platform programmes and industry solutions for dairy, beef and crops.
  • Further develop the regenerative agriculture strategy, growth plan, business model and resourcing plan building.
  • Build stakeholder engagement and commitment, share insights, manage expectations.
  • Work with members to initiate and develop regenerative agriculture projects that the working groups commit to undertake.
  • Manage external consultants and service providers effectively and cost-consciously.
  • Further establish and optimise evaluating and reporting mechanisms to monitor and share progress.
  • Ensure strong governance of process and budget with related tracking and reporting.
  • Ensure excellent communications on plans and progress with both internal and external stakeholders.
