Assurance & Capability Manager

SAI Platform is recruiting a dynamic and motivated Assurance & Capability Manager to join our team on a maternity cover contract for 12 months.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to SAI Platform’s industry-leading solutions and programmes, which play a crucial role in shaping the future of sustainable agriculture. Although this position is initially offered as maternity cover, there is a strong possibility for a permanent role based on performance and evolving business needs.

In this role, you will support the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) Director and the wider SAI Platform Secretariat to deliver critical services that enable our programmes to grow and scale effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assurance Management: Managing the assurance programme for the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) and supporting the development of the verification protocol for the Regenerating Together Framework.
  • Workstream Facilitation: Organising and facilitating the Assurance Workstream, ensuring robust verification and assurance processes for new claims within the FSA system.
  • Training Material Development: Developing training content for FSA users and auditors for two new modules: Regenerative Agriculture (Regen Ag) and the European Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (EUCSDDD).
  • Guidance and Support: Guiding members on the verification process, and claims they can make using the FSA system while ensuring static content stays up to date.
  • Communications: Assisting members in sharing their FSA experiences through case studies to promote the FSA to new audiences.
  • Vendor Management: Managing third-party service providers responsible for training, and oversight of verification bodies, and auditors.
  • Relationship Management: Maintaining strong relationships with verification bodies via our Verification Body Community of Practice.
  • Event Coordination: Assisting in the organisation and delivery of key events, such as the FSA Community of Practice Meeting.
  • Project Management: Overseeing expert consultants working on auditing processes, guidance materials, and communications.

Candidate requirements

  • Experience Level: A minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably within food supply chains or sustainable agriculture, with knowledge of voluntary sustainability schemes.
  • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage projects in a multi-stakeholder environment and build consensus across diverse groups.
  • Communication Skills: Experience in developing guidance and communications material and the ability to manage events and facilitate workshops.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with assurance processes, verification bodies, and sustainability standards, with the ability to guide members on compliance and best practices.
  • Self-Motivation: Strong ability to work independently in a remote setting with a virtual team.
  • Public Speaking Skills: Experience presenting to stakeholders and facilitating discussions.
  • Education: An MSc in a relevant field (preferred but not essential).
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required.

Member Engagement Manager

SAI Platform is recruiting a dynamic and motivated Member Engagement Manager to join our team on a maternity cover contract for 12 months. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the SAI Platform members and Secretariat team who play a crucial role in shaping the future of sustainable agriculture.

In this role, you will support the Senior Operations Director, Communications Director and the wider SAI Platform Secretariat across a number of key areas including the following:

Membership management & engagement

  • Co-ordinate and lead SAI Platform’s membership recruitment and onboarding process, in coordination with the leads as appropriate.
  • Single point of contact for all membership enquiries.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive record of members and stakeholders through SAI Platform’s CRM.
  • Coordinate and maintain stakeholder communications materials, including, but not limited to engagement plans, surveys, presentations, website copy and FAQs.
  • Arrange and accompany leads, as appropriate, to meet with key stakeholders on a 1-2-1 basis.
  • Assist and support SAI Platform events operations including but not limited to the Annual Event and the International Executive Programme on Sustainable Sourcing and Trade.
  • Ad hoc tasks relating to the remit of Global Engagement and Communications.

Membership engagement strategy

  • Assist and support the comms director to find new and innovative approaches to engage with our members and wider eco-sphere stakeholders.
  • Continuously identify and assess membership requirements to support cross-activity and knowledge sharing needs.
  • Follow up with leads and prospective members to present compelling value proposition for SAI Platform membership.

Membership analysis

  • Lead membership analysis and produce quarterly insight reports on membership growth, trends and membership fees per area of activity.

Support systems and platforms

Manage SAI Platform’s info email with Freshdesk.
Develop and maintain member engagement digital platforms such as MY SAI Platform.

Candidate requirements

  • Service-oriented attitude and able to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal effectiveness with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a multi-stakeholder environment and to manage diverse interests.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated work style, hands on and proactive “can-do” attitude.
  • Ability to work remotely with a virtual team.
  • Knowledge and experience in sustainability and the agri-food industry.
  • Experience working in a client facing role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), CRM systems.
  • Strong IT literacy with ability and motivation to learn about new IT systems.
  • English mother tongue or at least full professional proficiency in English is essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience of working in an international organisation is an asset.
