FSA Due Diligence Add-on Pilot to Start
19th August 2026
SAI Platform seeks volunteers to pilot Add-on resources and help refine them ahead of launch

Since 2014, the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) has been used in 66 countries across 275 crop commodities. As effective human rights and environmental due diligence (HREDD) becomes a legal requirement for many large companies, the introduction of the FSA Due Diligence Add-on builds on the FSA’s voluntary framework, providing a clear and structured approach to farm-level due diligence.
Designed primarily for FSA users, particularly farmer-facing buyers and Farm Management Group Coordinators (FMGCs) the Add-on is aligned with the OECD’s six-step guidance framework. This framework covers embedding responsible business conduct into policies and management systems, identifying and assessing risks, preventing and mitigating adverse impacts, tracking effectiveness, communicating progress, and enabling remediation where appropriate.
Drawing on information already captured through the FSA Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) and via a new FMGC-level questionnaire, the Add-on helps FMGCs identify gaps and strengthen their due diligence processes. It supports risk identification and mitigation and includes an optional third-party verification process aligned with the FSA’s three-year verification cycle.
Organisations are invited to pilot the latest resources and contribute feedback to help refine them. By participating, volunteers will help ensure the resources are practical, effective, and fit for purpose, while also strengthening due diligence capabilities within their own organisations.
Organisations interested in taking part are invited to register by 11 September 2026.
