We welcome NABU as a SAI Platform member
6th July 2026

“We see SAI Platform as an important convener to align business ambition with ecological outcomes, especially for biodiversity. Only by working together can we turn regenerative agriculture into a credible and scalable reality.”
Dr. Ingo Ammerman, CEO
We are pleased to welcome NABU – Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union as an Affiliate Member of SAI Platform. Founded in 1899 and headquartered in Berlin, NABU is Germany’s oldest and largest environmental organisation, with over 980,000 members and 70,000 active volunteers working to protect biodiversity, ecosystems and climate in Germany and internationally.
NABU focuses on biodiversity conservation, sustainable land use and climate action, with activities spanning regenerative agriculture initiatives, habitat restoration, policy advocacy and international conservation projects. Through its work with farmers, NGOs, public authorities and business partners, NABU combines scientific expertise with practical field implementation to advance nature- positive solutions across agricultural landscapes.
As a non-profit organisation, NABU operates through partnerships, pilot projects and advisory work rather than industry governance or certification. Its approach includes developing biodiversity indicators, supporting regenerative practices and building capacity across value chains, linking environmental outcomes with emerging policy and financing frameworks.
By joining SAI Platform, NABU brings strong expertise in biodiversity, an increasingly strategic priority within sustainable agriculture. Its experience in multi-stakeholder collaboration and landscape-level approaches will support collective efforts to integrate biodiversity alongside soil health, water stewardship and climate resilience.
