“Joining SAI Platform is an important step in strengthening how we work to scale regenerative agriculture across global supply chains. Real progress depends on collaboration, shared learning and practical action. We’re excited to contribute to solutions that help build more resilient farming systems for the future.”
Anke Ehlers, International Sustainability Officer at the ALDI SOUTH Group
We are pleased to welcome the ALDI SÜD HOLDING, a leading international retailer operating in 11 markets across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. With private-label products at the core of its offer, ALDI plays a defining role in global food systems, sourcing across key agricultural commodities including dairy, beef, fruit and vegetables. Its scale and private‑label model position the company as a powerful driver of change across supply chains, with the ability to influence farming practices, supplier standards and sustainability outcomes worldwide.
Regenerative agriculture is now a central pillar of ALDI’s sustainability strategy, alongside commitments to regenerate land, reduce FLAG emissions, replenish water resources and improve livelihoods, with the company advancing multiple projects within priority supply sheds in close collaboration with suppliers and traders. These efforts are underpinned by a broader focus on climate action, forest and land protection, human rights due diligence and responsible sourcing, supported by third‑party standards and certification schemes such as Fairtrade, Marine Stewardship Council and Rainforest Alliance.
By joining SAI Platform, ALDI seeks to collaborate on globally aligned definitions of regenerative agriculture and to co‑develop practical solutions that support system‑level change. As a retailer with relevance across all SAI Platform working groups, ALDI is well placed to contribute to—and benefit from—tools such as the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA), Regenerating Together Programme (RTP) and the Sustainable Dairy Partnership (SDP). Its engagement brings strong buyer‑side leadership, reinforcing the role of harmonised, credible sustainability frameworks in driving measurable progress at scale. We are delighted to welcome the ALDI SOUTH Group and look forward to working together to accelerate sustainable and regenerative transformation across global food supply chains.
