We are pleased to welcome the International Fertilizer Association (IFA) to SAI Platform. Founded in 1927, IFA is the only global fertiliser association, representing around 500 members across more than 80 countries. Its members include fertiliser producers, traders, distributors, research organisations, service providers, startups and NGOs, all working to promote the efficient and responsible production, distribution and use of plant nutrients.
Sustainability is a key focus for IFA. The association works with partners across the agrifood system to advance nutrient use efficiency, lower-carbon fertilisers, soil health, water management and emissions reduction. Its activities include developing guidance and methodologies, supporting industry decarbonisation efforts, promoting product stewardship through the Protect & Sustain certification programme, and convening stakeholders to address sustainability challenges across agricultural value chains.
IFA joins SAI Platform to build on existing collaboration around low-carbon fertilisers and to strengthen engagement with food and beverage companies and other value chain partners. The association brings expertise in nutrient stewardship, fertiliser-related emissions, data and measurement methodologies, and sustainable agricultural production, helping connect nutrient management with productivity, resilience and sustainability outcomes.
We look forward to working with IFA and its members to advance practical solutions that support sustainable and resilient agricultural supply chains.
