The Arable and Vegetable Working Group

The Arable and Vegetable Working Group was formed when the Vegetable and Potato Working Group and the Cereals Working Groups, both established in 2003, merged.

In 2018, the Arable and Vegetable and Fruit and Nut Working Groups became the Crops Working Group.

In its lifetime, the Arable and Vegetable Working Group was extremely active, meeting several times a year and organising an annual Learning Journey. Together with the Fruit and Nut Working Group, the Group was also instrumental in developing SAI Platform’s Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) tool.

Key achievements

  • 2009: Developing and publishing the Principles and Practices for Arable and Vegetable Crops
  • 2012: Supporting the development of a financial tool to help farmers with financial performance and overall farm sustainability.
