The Fruit and Nut Working Group

In 2016, the Fruit and the Coffee Working Groups merged, expanded their scope and became the Fruit and Nut Working Group.

The Fruit and Nut and Arable and Vegetable Working Groups were incorporated into the Crops Working Group in 2018.

Throughout its history, the Fruit and Nut Working Group shared best practices and real-world experiences and collaborated on initiatives and projects that supported sustainable farming.

Key achievements

  • 2009: Principles and Practices for Sustainable Fruit Production created (these were incorporated into the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) in 2014)
  • 2013: Project focussing on options for mitigating against greenhouse gas emissions in fruit production
  • 2014: Ambitious Brazilian Oranges and Doñana Berry Projects launched.
