GAP JAPAN 2025 – The future of Japanese Ag

14 Nov 2025Ariake Central Tower, Tokyo / Online

The Japan GAP Foundation will hold the symposium ‘GAP JAPAN 2025’ on Friday, November 14, 2025. The theme of the symposium will be ‘Let’s Talk About the Future of GAP and Agriculture.’

The JGAP and ASIAGAP principles of ‘food safety,’ ‘environmental conservation,’ ‘occupational safety,’ and ‘respect for human rights’ are becoming increasingly important mechanisms for supporting sustainable agriculture. At the same time, there are many challenges facing the future, such as a decline in the number of agricultural management entities and climate change.

In response to these pressing issues, this symposium will serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue, connecting national policy, international trends, and agricultural management.

FSA as a common denominator for agricultural sustainability

Joe Iveson, FSA Manager at SAI Platform, will participate in a session focused on global trends in sustainable agriculture. He will present the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) as a leading toolset for evaluating and advancing sustainable agricultural practices worldwide. His talk will also highlight the FSA’s alignment with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in Japan, showcasing how these frameworks complement each other in promoting responsible farming.

Operated by SAI Platform, the FSA serves as a globally recognized toolset for assessing the sustainability of agricultural operations. It provides a common international framework that supports transparency and continuous improvement across the global agricultural supply chain.
