Regen Reflections | A Just Transition Plan: Ensuring Farmer Income & Resilience
2 Oct 2025Online
3pm – 4.30pm CET
Regenerative agriculture offers immense potential for positive environmental impacts but at the heart of this must be a “Just Transition for farmers, growers and smallholders”.
This session will explore how organisations adopting ‘regenerative practices’ in different contexts can and are doing it in a way that helps to ensure farmer incomes and creating resilience for farmers. It will dive into case studies where organisations are working to ensure a Just Transition and what this might mean in different contexts.
SAI Platform and Cool Farm are partnering to deliver Regen Reflections, an exclusive member-only webinar series, designed to support our communities in scaling regenerative agriculture. Over eight sessions, we’ll guide you on a ‘learning journey’ that combines our expertise to inspire action and drive meaningful change.
Session 7 will focus on ‘A Just Transition Plan: Ensuring Farmer Income & Resilience.’ This session will explore how we can design regenerative agriculture systems that are farmer-first in terms of supporting resilience, fair income, and long-term sustainability.
Key discussion points will include:
- Key learning points and adaptation: What are the key insights from these projects? How would they change their approach if starting over, and what comes next?
- What a Just Transition looks like in your context? Working the geographies and sectors that you do, what does justice look like to the farmers, smallholders and growers that you work with? What are their priorities and how can they be best supported?
- Maintaining and even enhancing farmer incomes: The economics matter, so how can we work to ensure that farmer incomes and therefore livelihoods are maintained during the transition, or even enhanced?
- Creating a resilient system underpinned by resilient farming businesses: Regenerative Agriculture tries to deliver a more resilient system, but what does this mean for the farmer and what does it mean for the businesses within the supply chain?
- Real-World Insights: Share case studies and insights from your work with farmers and examples of where projects have helped to shift the dial.
By showcasing practical case studies, this session will offer attendees actionable insights into designing regenerative agriculture initiatives that help to ensure a Just Transition. The speakers will highlight both successes and challenges, offering a transparent look at what has worked, what hasn’t, and how to navigate these complex decisions!
