Strengthening FSA Verification Capacity Across Regions: SMAK and CSCA

SAI Platform’s Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) continues to strengthen its global verification network with the approval of two new bodies: SMAK in Sweden and CSCA in Asia, in response to the growing need for credible, independently verified sustainable sourcing.
The FSA works with independent, accredited Verification Bodies to ensure that farm assessments are conducted with integrity, technical rigor, and in alignment with its global sustainability framework. As demand for verified sourcing continues to grow the addition of SMAK and CSCA expands the FSA’s reach and capacity across both Europe and Asia.
With SMAK and CSCA joining the FSA’s network of approved Verification Bodies, companies across diverse geographies can access reliable, consistent verification services that support responsible sourcing and continuous improvement at farm-level.
SMAK: Boosting Nordic verification
Founded in 1953, SMAK brings decades of experience in agricultural verification and control. The organisation supports Sweden’s agricultural and food companies in meeting standards such as IP, KRAV and the EU’s organic production regulation, and is known for its practical approach and competitive pricing.
Its approval as an FSA Verification Body extends coverage across the Nordic region, supporting producers and buyers in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.

CSCA boosts coverage in Asia
CSCA (China Standard Conformity Assessment CO.,LTD), established in 2010, is a comprehensive technical organisation providing verification, scientific research, standard setting, international cooperation, policy analysis, consulting and training. It delivers standardisation and conformity assessment services to both government bodies and enterprise assessment services to both government bodies and enterprises.
Its approval to verify FSA assessments in China, Uzbekistan and Singapore strengthens access to credible verification in key Asian markets where sustainable sourcing is rapidly advancing.
