Sustainable Dairy Partnership 2.0 Goes Live
19th February 2026
SAI Platform’s Sustainable Dairy Partnership (SDP) 2.0 is now live. This updated iteration of the SDP reporting tool offers a more efficient structure for sharing sustainability information across the dairy value chain. SDP 2.0 introduces a revised digital setup designed to simplify reporting processes and improve data consistency for organisations.
SAI Platform’s Sustainable Dairy Partnership (SDP) was developed to address recurring challenges in dairy sustainability reporting, including audit fatigue, overlapping requirements, and inconsistent data submissions. Since the launch of SDP 1.0 in 2021, the tool has provided a standardised framework for dairy companies to align their reporting practices. SDP 2.0 builds on the same foundation with several practical updates for more practicality.
What’s new in SDP 2.0:
- Fully digital Carbon and Animal Health modules.
- Streamlined reporting dashboard.
- Updated and Simplified Stage Matrix.
- Data extraction for external reporting.
- Automated notifications and improved oversight features.
Early adopters report clearer tracking of progress and reduced administrative effort. SAI Platform member Kerry Dairy Ireland, the first processor globally to achieve the SDP’s Stage 5 verification, noted that the updated system offers more structured documentation when demonstrating on-farm progress to customers.
“Stage 5 SDP verification shows our farmers are making real, measurable sustainability progress independently verified and aligned to global standards.”
Zita McCarthy, Senior Sustainability Manager at Kerry Dairy Ireland
“The SDP is a game‑changer for the dairy industry. It brings clarity and alignment to a space that has long been fragmented. As a processor, buyer, and trader, we see firsthand how SDP simplifies reporting and fosters collaboration. It’s not just a tool; it’s a catalyst for industry‑wide transformation. By adopting SDP, we’re not only improving our own operations but also supporting the broader shift toward sustainable dairy.”
Andreas Zweifel, Global Head of Sustainability Dairy at ofi
SAI Platform continues to ensure that the SDP is well-aligned to evolving industry needs and requirements. The next phase of updates will focus on strengthening the tool’s capabilities, ensuring it remains future-ready, practical, and valuable for users over time.
Awais Khan, Supply Chain Reporting and ESG Manager explained how the SDP 2.0 is providing a clearer and more efficient reporting structure for dairy companies working with sustainability data. He adds: “This version addresses our members’ feedback on practical issues, and our focus going forward is to continue refining it to meet expectations and evolving demands.”
