Duncan Williams

Duncan leads the strategic direction and initiatives of SAI Platform’s Dairy Working Group, bringing over 15 years of diverse experience across the global dairy industry. His expertise blends hands-on technical knowledge with a deep understanding of environmental sustainability and business strategy.

He began his career as a dairy veterinarian, working across the United States (University of Illinois), New Zealand (Canterbury), and Beijing (China). He later moved to the UK, where he served as a dairy nutritionist and technical consultant with Kite Consulting. His sustainability journey began with the roll-out of antibiotic reduction programmes across the UK dairy industry; benchmarking and training farmers, while shaping supply chain strategy. Since then, he has led GHG mitigation programmes for major dairy and red meat processors, conducted research into how policy shapes environmental outcomes, and led multistakeholder collaborations at an international systems-change nonprofit.

Duncan holds a Bachelor’s in Veterinary Medicine, a Master’s in Sustainable Development, and is a 2019 Nuffield Scholar.
