Throughout his career, he has focused on helping agriculture evolve in ways that are practical, science-based, and grounded in the realities of farming, innovation, and environmental stewardship.
Prior to this role, Javier held several positions at Syngenta Crop Protection across development, agroecosystems, and sustainability. His work has covered crop protection, integrated pest management, regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, and landscape resilience, linking scientific knowledge with business priorities and on-farm needs.
Javier holds a Ph.D. in Biodiversity and Entomology, and has studies and specialised training in agri-food, applied statistics, business, and artificial intelligence. His interdisciplinary background, combined with his collaborations with universities and research centres, has enabled him to work across research, technical strategy, and cross-functional collaboration, bringing a systems perspective to complex agricultural challenges.
With deep experience in biodiversity, soil health, agroecosystem management, and stakeholder engagement, Javier is well placed to advance living labs and support more sustainable and resilient beef value chains.
