Mara Renn

Communications Officer

Mara brings over a decade of international experience in climate resilience, agricultural development, and strategic communications. Prior to her current role, she served as a Senior Fellow at the Hugo P. Cecchini Institute, where she developed communication strategies aligned with sustainability and institutional goals. She also worked as a Communication & Climate-Smart Agriculture Manager at the Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture, where she led internal and external communications and contributed to peer-reviewed publications.

Her earlier career spans research and implementation roles across Europe and Latin America, including postdoctoral work at the University of Bern and doctoral research at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL). Mara has also held positions with WWF and FAO.

With a PhD in Climate Sciences and a multidisciplinary background in environmental science, and forest engineering, Mara combines scientific rigor with creative storytelling.
