FSA Training Event, Rome

3rd December 2018

November 2018, Rome, Italy

Overview

On 8-9 November, the second Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) Training Event of 2018 was held in Rome, Italy.

The FSA Training Event brought together an enthusiastic group of participants including manufacturers, processors, and co-operatives. By the end of the two-days, participants felt a greater understanding about the complete FSA toolset as well as having the opportunity to share experiences and learn more about the value of the FSA in practice.

Commenting about the success of this specialised training course, Joe Rushton, FSA Manager for SAI Platform stated – “It’s been a delight to run this course, and the positive impact has been visible almost from the start. It’s really encouraging to see several of the group working with the FSA so confidently.”

SAI Platform created the Farm Sustainability Assessment programme as the food and drink sectors industry-wide consensus on what sustainable agriculture is, where it exists, and how to best support its uptake.

The course explained in detail how to use the FSA most effectively consulting in depth real examples from the participants supply chains. It included hands-on practice with the FSA web-application and a talk from SAI Platform member, Unilever, who shared their experiences of implementing the FSA.

The training gave me some great new insight, helping me to see several possible opportunities to implement the FSA. It was a great event!
