Looking Ahead to What’s Next for SAI Platform’s Crops Community in 2026
9th December 2025
From carbon accounting to cross-sector collaboration, the year ahead promises practical tools, stronger partnerships, and events shaping the future of sustainable agriculture.
As 2025 draws to a close, SAI Platform members from the Crops Working Group are preparing for a year of collaboration, innovation, and practical action. The focus for 2026 is clear: transform insights into impact, build on lessons from ongoing projects, and create spaces for members to connect and grow together.
- Advancing Carbon Accounting- Carbon measurement and reporting will take centre stage through the Crops Carbon Toolkit. Covering topics such as MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) and GHG accounting tools, this resource will equip members with practical solutions to meet climate goals.
- Turning Knowledge into Action- A priority for the year will be sharing tools and resources developed through current SAI Platform projects. These assets will help members accelerate best practice adoption and scale regenerative approaches across diverse crop systems.
- Strengthening Collaboration- Plans are underway to enhance our matchmaking service, connecting members for joint projects and learning opportunities. The aim is simple: foster partnerships that deliver measurable impact across the supply chain.
- Events That Matter- The calendar will feature key online and in-person gatherings, including a Crops Working Group and Community of Practice yearly meetings and the SAI Platform Annual Event with accompanying Crops Working Group meeting. These remain vital forums for networking, exchanging ideas, and shaping the future of sustainable, regenerative agriculture.
- Learning Across Communities- Collaboration will extend beyond crops. Quarterly webinars with the Beef and Dairy communities will address shared challenges such as biodiversity, enabling cross-sector learning and integrated approaches to sustainability.
This is only the beginning. 2026 promises more innovation, engagement, and collective action. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to get involved.
