Sustainable farming a high priority in China
27th November 2019
SAI Platform members and Verification Bodies came together on 19th and 20th November in Shanghai to develop specific guidance for the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) in China.
Sustainable farming is a high priority for companies and government alike as interest continues to grow for the FSA. To date, there have been four successful FSA verifications, with more expected to come.
Previous SAI Platform engagements in China have revealed an increasing need to provide guidance that is specific to Chinese farming conditions. Companies already using the FSA to engage with farmers in China are hoping that this will reduce the barrier for implementation, as expectations are set out more clearly.
The development of the guide includes a review by SAI Platform and will be downloadable from the FSA Resource Centre in early 2020.
