VYR is the co-operation platform of the Finnish cereal and oilseed sector. Their aim is to improve the functioning and general efficiency of the Finnish cereal, oilseed and protein crop sector. The committee has over 50 members: Farmers unions, grain trade operators, grain and oilseed industry, plant breeding, research and advisory organisations.
They implement development and information measures for the grain value chain and coordinate cooperation between the various parties in the grain value chain to maximise the potential of the Finnish grain sector. With projects funded by the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture, VYR is a driving force in accelerating the uptake of sustainable practices in the sector.
