Collaboration in Action as Members Gather in London to Share, Learn, and Inspire
11th November 2025
Strong turnout and positive energy confirm SAI Platform members’ appetite for peer-to-peer learning, knowledge sharing and industry collaboration.
This autumn, three of SAI Platform’s Communities of Practice gathered in London, united by a shared purpose to work together and drive meaningful on-the-ground action to advance sustainable and regenerative agriculture. Over two days, members took part in an interactive agenda that included workshop sessions, case studies from industry peers as well as a fireside chat with two UK farmers.
Each SAI Platform community group: Crops Working Group, Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) and the Regenerating Together Programme (RTP) shared updates, developments and plans for 2026 during this member-only meeting.
1. Farm Sustainability Assessment: Practical Pathways to Improvement
Day one kicked off with the FSA Community of Practice. Here members shared updates, explored latest developments, and contributed to the continued evolution of this globally and widely applied farm-level solution for sustainable agriculture.
The session opened with an overview of recent FSA progress and growing global adoption. A deep dive into the upcoming Due Diligence Add-on provided clarity to its purpose and practical application, while offering valuable insights to help members understand how it supports their sustainability goals. Interactive breakout sessions invited participants to exchange views on the direction of the Due Diligence Add-on, identify shared challenges and propose ideas for improvement.
Finally, inspiring case studies from the Growing a Better Planet 2025 Award showcased real-world examples of FSA principles driving positive change across global supply chains.
2. Crops Working Group: Elevating the Farmer Voice
The second half of the day focused on the Crops Community and their 2026 strategy to strengthen collaboration across the agricultural supply chain.
The discussions focused on three core themes, namely: knowledge exchange, cross-pollination, and accelerating action.
- Knowledge exchange: Members explored how industry solutions can be leveraged to enhance sustainable sourcing practices, unlock the potential of the FSA for credible claims, and identify opportunities for transition technologies. Peer learning and open dialogue were recognised as essential tools for building trust and scaling impact.
- Cross-pollination: Sparked conversations reinforcing the value of cross-pillar engagement and aligning around shared goals. We concluded that it is through fostering open communication and celebrating collective progress, that we can drive meaningful change across the sector.
- Accelerating action: Identified a clear call for more technical support in areas such as carbon accounting, farmer incentivisation, and project implementation. Members emphasised the importance of sharing project points of learning, and creating spaces where actors across the landscape can connect and collaborate.
3. Regenerating Together Programme: A Community in Motion
Day two celebrated the conclusion of a successful and insightful six-month pilot phase for the Regenerating Together Programme (RTP). The RTP Community of Practice gathered to hear from fellow SAI Platform members Crisp Malt, Bayer, and Wildfarmed as they described their experiences and illustrated the system’s practical on-the-ground implementation case studies in Argentina, Brazil and the UK.
A fireside conversation with two UK farmers brought the realities of regenerative agriculture to life, while breakout sessions and networking fostered connection and collective resolve.
With the RTP’s public launch planned for the second half of 2026, this meeting provided a timely opportunity for engagement, learning and alignment among the RTP’s early adopters and wider industry stakeholders.
Key reflections included:
- Farmer-Centric and Collaborative Design: The RTP’s design principle of locally adapted, farmer-focused and -engaged implementation remains central. Globally applicable frameworks and systems must be grounded in local farmer realities. The RTP will seek to continuously evolve based on collaboration and dialogue.
- Contextual Learning: Centred around the RTP’s quintessential requirement to engage with and understand local farming contexts and realities, discussions highlighted the need to exchange knowledge and learning points across production systems and geographies.
- Human-Centred Scaling: Success depends not only on systems, frameworks, projects, technology, and data – but equally on relationships, support, and shared risk. Genuine, constructive dialogue and collaboration as well as continuous learning from and amongst each other – with a particular view to farmer peer-to-peer exchange – are vital.
- Shared Purpose and Collective Momentum: Participants left with a clear sense that they are working along a shared roadmap driven by mutual challenges and purpose, reaffirming the value of the Regenerating Together Programme.
One attendee noted, “It’s always helpful to pause and ask – does this still matter? Today, the answer is a resounding “Yes”.
“Coming together to share experiences, challenges, and lessons learned is vital to the evolution of an industry in transition. The energy, commitment, and expertise within our community make SAI Platform a powerful enabler of change across the agri-food industry.”
