Recognising the value of agriculture for a thriving future

8th June 2021

Over 200 participants will come together from across the sustainable food and drink industry for the SAI Platform Annual Event 2021 on 9 to 11 June 2021.

This year for the first time SAI Platform’s Annual Event will be live, virtual and interactive. The main theme “Recognising the value of agriculture for a thriving future” examines the benefits and challenges of shared values in agricultural food systems and discusses how to work towards a systemic change for a sustainable thriving future.

#SAIPlatform2021 is a three day event with two days of interactive sessions and the opportunity to connect virtually with our community of global leaders from companies across the agriculture value chain. The last final day is exclusively for members. The programme offers an exciting mix of live Q&A chats and breakout sessions, virtual networking, and 24/7 access to all content and library resources.

For the first time SAI Platform is hosting a virtual, live event. We are happy to convene our community of sustainability leaders in a time of tremendous uncertainty for supply chains with a clear purpose: recognising how agriculture could represent an opportunity for a better future.” – Adrian Greet, Director General, SAI Platform

An opening keynote speech will be given by Arianna Giuliodori, Secretary General, World Farmers’ Organisation and member of SAI Platform’s Advisory Council.

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to open the discussions and set the scene for the SAI Platform Annual Event. Recognising the value of sustainable agriculture for a thriving future means shifting from a supply to a value chain approach, where farmers play their role as key economic actors. The time has come to dare farmer-driven, bold, innovative partnerships to build sustainable, fair and resilient food systems.”

Speakers and panellists will include member companies AB Sugar, Cargill, Ferrero, innocent drinks, Nestlé, Mars, Oatly, Symrise and Unilever as well as international organisations such as the European Commission and IFC. We will also be joined by sustainability leaders from AlVelAl, Duncan Pollard & Associates, Harborview Farms, Norwest Ingredients, Tanager, and The Innocent Foundation.

Thank you to our sponsors Unilever, PepsiCo and Cargill for their support and contribution in the organisation of our event.
