The theme for this year’s UN World Environment Day is ‘Raise your voice, not the sea level’, focusing on the need to reduce GHG emissions contributing to climate change. The effects of climate change and reduced natural resources could pose a problem for the future of agriculture.
SAI Platform’s members are aware of the many contributors to climate change and are committed to playing their part in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in their supply chains. Food and drink industry member companies work together to investigate and implement mitigation strategies that can be incorporated into their supply chains.
Environmental sustainability is an important facet of good agricultural practices and many of SAI Platform’s tools therefore include ways to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
