The challenge

Agriculture has an important role to play to feed a growing global population, while also protecting environmental and social considerations. For SAI Platform members, there often exists a disconnect between internal teams on the importance of agricultural sustainability, making it more difficult to align on priorities within an organisation.

 

The Farming for Sustainable Development project will create a resource for SAI Platform members to support internal and external communication on sustainability activities. Information will provide high-level overviews of topics related to agriculture and natural resources, while drawing specific examples from interviews with farmers in SAI Platform members’ supply chains. Templates and case examples provided can be used by SAI Platform members to develop communications such as reports, presentations, and social media.

Objectives

  • Compile and showcase projects that members and SAI Platform have completed and have resulted in positive outcomes.
  • Create multiple communications materials to use on social media to positively influence the narrative on farming and food.
