The European Roundtable for Beef Sustainability (ERBS) is pleased to announce that the 2023 ERBS Annual Event, hosted in partnership with Bord Bia, The Irish Food Board, will take place on 3rd and 4th October in Dublin, Ireland.

In line with ERBS’ objective to work collaboratively with other organisations committed to continuously improve the sustainability of European beef production, this year’s event will be focused on “Enhancing Beef Sustainability through Research and Technology”.

This theme will form the basis for an intimate, inspiring and interactive two-day event incorporating field visits, keynote speakers, member case studies and interactive workshops. Following the success of last year’s ERBS Annual Event in Chantilly, France, this year’s edition promises to be a great opportunity for members to come together and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the European beef industry, to learn and form solution-building partnerships, and to shape the agenda of the ERBS going forward.

Engaging stakeholders from across the European beef sector, the agenda for 3rd October includes farm visits to some of the leaders in beef farming sustainability in Ireland. Members will benefit from a unique opportunity to get out in the field and engage directly with farmers as they share valuable insights on critical sustainability topics including water quality, animal breeding, feed additives, anaerobic digestion, and climate action.

The second day of the event will be conference based, taking place at Bord Bia’s newly refurbished, state of the art headquarters in Dublin. Members will benefit from an exclusive presentation from the Bord Bia Insights Team covering a round-up of their latest research, including presentations focusing on Carbon & the Consumer and Shopper Attitudes in a Cost-of-Living Crisis, as well as an update from each Platform in-country focusing on progress made towards achieving the aligned outcomes targets.

In the meantime, the ERBS looks forward to kicking off its 2023 Knowledge Share Webinar Series in April. Following the success of the 2022 series, the webinars will continue to engage subject matter experts covering critical, newsworthy topics for the European beef sector. This year’s topics include Biodiversity, Deforestation, European Landscape Research and Farmer Perspectives and members can expect to receive invitations with links to register for the individual webinars over the coming weeks.

Finally, the ERBS is hosting an “Introduction to the ERBS” webinar on Thursday 13th April at 11AM CET. Hosted by Rozanne Davis, Director of ERBS and Siobhán Bradley, Livestock Officer ERBS, this webinar is open to all ERBS members and interested stakeholders in the beef industry. The webinar will offer a comprehensive overview of the values and benefits of the ERBS as well as its’ strategy towards 2030.

Attendees will hear from fellow ERBS members and beef sustainability leaders including, Salomé Rozier, Head of Beef and CSR at Moy Park and Michelle Jordan, Senior Agri-Food Communications Executive at Bord Bia as they address how the ERBS is dealing with the challenges and opportunities in the beef industry and why being a member of the ERBS is important to them professionally.
