Call for submissions for the 2024 FSA Growing A Better Planet Award

collaboration in efforts to continuously
improve on-farm sustainability
SAI Platform is pleased to announce the launch of the 2024 Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) Growing A Better Planet Award.
The FSA is a globally recognised and trusted industry solution for facilitating supply chain collaboration and enabling farm groups worldwide to assess, improve and communicate on sustainability performance. With this in mind, the FSA Growing A Better Planet Award celebrates the farmers, individuals and organisations demonstrating leadership, innovation and collaboration in their efforts to continuously improve on-farm sustainability.
Last year’s winner was Phata Sugarcane Outgrowers Cooperative for their their holistic approach to sustainability and their significant contributions to the local community. More information on the cooperative and their winning entry can be found here.
This year, SAI Platform is once again calling for examples of collaborative initiatives that are advancing the adoption of sustainable farming practices across the globe. If you are you part of a group that is using the FSA to drive continuous improvement of on-farm social, environmental, and business performance, we encourage you to enter the 2024 FSA Growing a Better Planet Award.
To enter, please submit a 3-minute video presenting your initiative. The video can be filmed on a smart phone and should introduce the region, crop (s) and the farmers implementing the FSA. The narrative should focus on the objectives of the project and the positive impact being achieved on the ground. The award is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate your achievements with the SAI Platform community.
The judging panel for this year’s award consists of a representative from last year’s winning entry, Tione Malizani, Extension Officer at Phata Sugarcane Outgrowers Cooperative, Rozanne Davis, ERBS Director at SAI Platform and Andrew Utterback, SAI Platform Executive Committee and FSA Steering Committee member and Director, Global Sustainable Sourcing at Ingredion.
Submissions will be evaluated based on the extent to which they demonstrate leadership, collaborative action, and on-farm sustainability impact. A shortlist of the entrants and their application videos will be shared on the SAI Platform website and social channels, and we will announce the winner of this year’s award in September.
