Regenerating Together Programme

In September 2023, SAI Platform launched its Regenerating Together global framework for regenerative agriculture. Signalling an important moment for SAI Platform, its members, and the wider agri-food industry, for the first time, the sector has a globally aligned definition for regenerative agriculture and a transitional approach to regenerative agriculture.

Regenerating Together is a global programme that enables beef, crop and dairy farmers to collaborate with supply chain partners. Together, they establish, achieve and report progress against regenerative agriculture outcomes using the Regenerating Together global framework for regenerative agriculture.

SAI Platform’s Regenerating Together programme is dedicated to advancing regenerative agriculture through an outcome-based farming approach designed to enhance soil health, support biodiversity, protect water resources, and improve farmers’ livelihoods while adapting to and mitigating the impacts of climate change.

Through a four step approach including context analysis, outcome selection, practice adoption and progress monitoring, Regenerating Together offers a practical and flexible approach that allows farmers and supply chain actors to quantify, report, and communicate outcomes efficiently. Regenerating Together aims to minimise duplication of efforts, reduce additional work on data collection and reporting across supply chains and focus on actions protecting and enhancing environmental outcomes.

Working in close collaboration with members, farmers, civil societies, NGOs, academics, and industry experts, the Regenerating Together programme has built a consensus around a collective goal. Together, we are committed to fostering lasting change at the field, farm, and landscape levels across various geographies and supporting farms to remain both productive and economically viable as they progress towards a more resilient and sustainable future.
